Wedge anchors are mechanical fasteners that provide secure hold in solid materials like concrete and masonry. They consist of a threaded anchor body, expansion clip (wedge), washer, and nut. When tightened, the nut pulls the threaded portion into the expansion clip, causing it to expand against the hole walls for a secure fit.

These anchors come in various materials including stainless steel, zinc-plated steel, and hot-dipped galvanized steel, each offering different corrosion resistance and strength levels. They are available in multiple diameters and lengths to suit different base materials and project needs.

Wedge anchors offer high pull-out strength and vibration resistance, making them ideal for static and dynamic loads. While they can be removed and reused in some cases, they may be less effective in cracked concrete or if over-tightened.

For proper installation, drill a hole using the correct diameter bit (same as anchor diameter) to a depth at least 1/2" or one anchor diameter deeper than required embedment. Clean the hole thoroughly to remove dust and debris.

Place the washer on the anchor and thread the nut. When installing through a fixture, drive the anchor through it into the hole to the minimum required embedment depth. Tighten with a torque wrench to the required installation torque. During tightening, the threaded stud draws up while the expansion wedge clip stays in place.
