Insert threaded components into pre-drilled concrete openings.
Provide durable threaded connections within solid concrete surfaces.
Create reliable mounting points for securing bolts and threaded rods in building projects.
Drop-in anchors, also known as flush-mount anchors, function as female threaded inserts for concrete applications. A builder creates a hole in the concrete surface and inserts the anchor into this pre-drilled opening for permanent installation.
After installation, the drop-in anchor becomes a permanent fixture. These anchors need a specialized setting tool for proper installation. You can install them in any concrete surface to mount various items securely. While the anchor itself cannot be removed, its threaded opening allows bolts to be inserted and removed as needed.
The load capacity of drop-in anchors varies significantly. These anchors feature smooth external walls that maximize contact with the surrounding concrete, enhancing their grip strength. The primary factors determining an anchor's holding strength are the depth of installation and concrete strength (measured in psi). Additional elements affecting performance include the presence of reinforcing steel within the concrete structure.
